Cross Cultural Experience


Experience of working in a variety of countries & cultures

We have worked in many countries and with diverse cultures. This has been with English as a second or third language or in local language.

A fundamental part of this is to approach each project as a professional facilitator not as someone form this country or that country. The country of origin is only relevant if the client feels it is relevant, or if it is to some advantage to use this feature. With the latter for example, some countries feel that someone from country X has good experience of how to do something correctly because their market is more advanced in some way. Mostly however it is the expertise which is relevant for a project.

 

Adapting the approach


The fundamental approach to our work does not change, that is to:

  1. Understand the client's needs and wants
  2. Clarify the outcomes and expectations of the client
  3. Quantify wherever possible the business impact of any training investment
  4. Develop the training proposal
  5. Deliver a pilot
  6. Review & roll out
  7. Evaluate

The extra effort we put in is to fully appreciate any cultural / language aspects. An approach which may suit a UK group might not be so effective in US or Russia. We make sure we have thought through all possible options before delivering the pilot
