Freedom to Act
Freedom to Act is about empowering leadership or distributing the leadership in a team. Leadership can be shared in an organisation or team. Empowering leadership explores the idea that all leadership does not have to come from the traditional leader. Leadership can also be demonstrated in allowing others to take the lead.
As organisations become more complex there is a requirement to share leadership within clear guidelines or principles to ensure everyone knows where they are going and equally where they are not going.
Empowering leadership has the leaders amplifying the desired behaviours in an organisation and liberating employees.
The ITD Freedom to Act approach to empowering leadership is a thought provoking journey for leaders, which may involve a blended mix of training and coaching to give the required support to behavioural change.
